Job Title: Database Engineer
Department: IT Department

Detailed Work Profile:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain databases, including relational and non-relational databases, to support application workflows.
  2. Optimize database performance, including SQL query tuning and optimization.
  3. Install, configure, and test new database software such as Oracle, MariaDB, etc.
  4. Manage and maintain Oracle Data Guard, high-availability RAC (Real Application Clusters), and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
  5. Monitor database system performance, troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and ensure data availability.
  6. Collaborate with software developers and data analysts to understand database requirements and provide database support and expertise.
  7. Provide technical support for issues and queries related to database systems in production and office environments.
  8. Stay updated with emerging database technologies and best practices to propose improvements for performance, scalability, and security.

  • Duration: 1 year

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Fresher Considered: No

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Preferred Certifications: OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) or OCP (Oracle Certified Professional).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of database concepts and technologies, including Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL.
  • Practical experience in database design, implementation, and administration.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat-based Linux OS operations, such as Rocky Linux and Oracle Linux.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL and shell scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing and maintaining large-scale databases.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for learning and staying updated on new technologies.

Communication Skills:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Hindi and Chinese is a plus.
