Position Statement:

The Sales Manager – China is responsible for soliciting and responding to companies and organizations to rent guest rooms, meeting spaces, and purchase food and beverages from the hotel. This role involves coordinating prompt, courteous, and efficient service to meet customer needs and maximize hotel profitability.

Primary Responsibilities :

Position Summary:

  • Sales and Negotiation:

    • Represent the hotel at conferences, proposals, and external sales presentations.
    • Negotiate contracts with customers and establish agreements with vendors.
  • Customer Engagement:

    • Travel to meet and entertain clients, participate in trade shows, and promote the property.
    • Conduct site inspections and property tours with potential customers.
    • Respond to leads and inquiries related to guest rooms, meeting space, and catering services.
  • Proposal and Contract Management:

    • Prepare proposals and contracts for group accommodations (10-50 guest rooms) and event spaces.
    • Develop and quote pricing within guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration:

    • Attend departmental meetings (e.g., tentative review, lost business review).
    • Support administrative tasks like maintaining sales files and answering calls.
  • Product Knowledge and Technology:

    • Maintain basic knowledge of hotel layouts, operations, safety standards, and city ordinances.
    • Use tools like Microsoft Office, Opera, Fusion, and other sales systems proficiently.
  • Problem-Solving:

    • Address guest inquiries or complaints with patience and diplomacy.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales or similar roles.
  • Experience in the luxury hotel/resort sector.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English and Chinese.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Opera, and Fusion.
  • Excellent communication, selling, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Commitment to high levels of customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the Asian outbound tour operator market.
  • Geographic market expertise and robust client relationships.
  • Analytical skills to interpret business trends and competitive challenges.
  • Flexibility to handle diverse work situations and demanding schedules.
