Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable AWS Engineer to join our IT services department. As an AWS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure and services for our clients. This position requires a candidate with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud technologies and a strong understanding of infrastructure as code and automation principles. You will play a crucial role in architecting scalable and reliable cloud solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring the security and availability of our clients' applications.

Responsibilities:
1. AWS Infrastructure Design and Deployment:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, architects, and project managers, to understand project requirements and design scalable and highly available AWS architectures.
- Deploy and configure AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others, based on project needs and best practices.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources.
- Define and implement security measures and access controls to ensure data privacy and compliance with industry regulations.

2. System Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor AWS infrastructure performance and resource utilization using AWS CloudWatch or similar monitoring tools.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to performance, scalability, and availability, and provide appropriate solutions and recommendations.
- Optimize AWS resources, including instances, databases, and storage, for cost efficiency and performance.
- Implement automated backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.

3. Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance standards in AWS environments, including network security, access controls, and data encryption.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security risks.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to ensure adherence to security policies and procedures.

4. Automation and DevOps:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates for deploying, configuring, and managing AWS resources.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline application deployment and release processes.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new AWS services and features to optimize application performance and operations.

5. Documentation and Collaboration:
- Document AWS architectures, configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and enable efficient maintenance and support.
- Collaborate with team members, architects, and project managers to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the overall success of the projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an AWS Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in designing, deploying, and managing AWS services and infrastructure.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and data privacy regulations.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
